MINDFUL VINYASA (FLOW) YOGA
Strength and stamina building asana flow interwoven with mindful alignment principles. This class is both, challenging and therapeutic with intelligent sequencing leading towards more advanced postures. Expect deep work and nurturing reminders as you learn and practice yogic tools on the mat to support your life off the mat.

ANUSARA YOGA

Anusara yoga honors and celebrates the place of heart, sees the good in all people and exemplifies a life affirming perspective in the relationship to all situations. Anusara literally means to "be with the flow" or  " to be with the essence" of nature and to "follow your heart." It holds a vision that each of us has the power from within to unravel an all-encompassing beauty, bountiful and limitless, and exude this magnificent luster in everyday life. The practice of Anusara Yoga begins from the place of the heart while illuminating a system of Universal Principles of Alignment that continue to reveal the art of asana interweaving mind body and spirit.

GENTLE/THERAPEUTIC YOGA
This class will provide students of all levels with a combination of Yoga Therapeutics and Restorative Yoga. Yoga Therapeutics utilizes exercises and movements to help the body move into alignment and balance in order to reduce and eliminate pain. Restorative yoga is an "active relaxation”, supporting the body with props (blankets, bolsters, blocks and belts) to relieve stress. This class is appropriate for all levels including people working with chronic pain, illness or injuries. It allows ample time to address questions and concerns. Students who currently practice yoga and experience physical discomfort during certain asanas can also benefit. It will be taught using the Anusara Principles of Alignment.
At the moment only private sessions are available.

YIN YOGA, the quiet practice
Yin Yoga is a more passive form of yoga practice. The postures are held for several minutes, sometimes for 10 or even longer. The muscles (= yang tissue) stay mostly relaxed so that the deep connective (= yin) tissue of the body opens, elongates as well as strengthens. A static, elongating “stress” on the ligaments (tissue around the joints) and other connective tissue not only makes it grow thicker and longer, it also opens the flow of energy through the energy pathways (called meridians or nadis) by increased production of hyaluronic acid (with age we start loosing it), which attracts water, and it literally helps to lubricate the joints and other connective tissue. This is especially good, because it has been scientifically confirmed that the meridians (or nadis) run within our connective tissue, and the greater the amount of hyaluronic acid is present, the greater and more balanced the flow of electromagnetic energy along the meridian lines. Also, generally, less problems with the joints.
In this workshop I will also offer meditation instructions, so that while we hold postures for several minutes, we can use that time to cultivate the OPEN AWARENESS OF OUR BEING.
Yin practice is something we can easily do at home by ourselves. In each session we target a particular group of meridians with corresponding sequencing of the yin yoga postures.

CANDLELIGHT SLOW STRETCH (YIN) & RESTORATIVE YOGA
This calming, healing, relaxing, and as-challenging-as-you-make-it yoga practice is open to students with all levels of experience. As the postures are held for longer time in a more passive and supported way, an increased flow of energy is experienced. The deep connective tissue of the body opens and stretches, releasing tension and stored-up toxins. Many yoga students are finding this kind of practice to be the perfect compliment to their more active yoga practices. Restorative poses offer benefits to both the body and mind, for conditions ranging from emotional and mental stress, insomnia, asthma, chronic pain, including back pain to migraines and depression.
Please bring a small towel and an eye bag if you have it.
